Process

This project began with a question: how do you document a brand that is as much a movement as it is a label? Of No Nation is more than clothing—it is craft, culture, and critique stitched together. We were invited to help tell that story.

Shot over several days in Los Angeles, we followed founders Ali and Chee through their creative process, capturing their philosophy of design and the world they are building through it. The film weaves together interviews, soundscapes, street-level footage, and behind-the-scenes moments from their latest lookbook shoot. It touches on everything from the significance of Khaadi fabric to the tension between fast fashion and ancestral making.

Along the way, we explored their ties to hip-hop and South Asian culture, the meaning behind the brand’s name, and the daily decisions they make to live out their values of sustainability and resistance. Through sound, texture, and light, we aimed to create a visual experience that felt as honest and unfiltered as the people at its center.

The final film is now part of Of No Nation’s brand storytelling toolkit, offering a deeper look at their process and purpose. It’s being used across their platforms to engage a growing audience that values sustainability, heritage, and independent creative work.

For us, this wasn’t just about making a brand film. It was about holding space for a larger conversation, about how identity, memory, and resistance show up in what we wear, how we work, and the systems we choose to push back against.

Of No Nation is doing more than designing clothes. They are building something grounded, urgent, and lasting. This project gave us the chance to document that spirit in motion.
